Snoring & Sleep Apnea

September, 1, 2017

Who doesn’t know someone who snores? It is an annoyance that we all deal with on a daily basis. Everyone has a sleep partner who keeps them up most of the night. It’s funny how we don’t snore but our partner often says otherwise. Apparently, just about all of us snore at one time or another.

Snoring is not just annoying- it is potential ly a health hazzard as often it is a sign that one may have sleep apnea.

Sleep apnea is a very serious prolem. People actually stop breathing with obstuctive sleep apnea (osa). These people may also have high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and a host of other ailments.

Use of a cpap often helps with osa. However, for those unable to tolerate, an oral device, which is less invasive can be made by your dentist. It only involves digital scans (great for gaggers) or impressions.

If an oral device is your preference, call my office- i will be happy to help you!
